Snowshoeing in the Northwoods

The last couple of weekends have been sunny and mild...great weather for getting outside for winter activities. We have chosen snowshoeing as our activity and have explored three different locations over the last couple of weekends. Sarah came home for the day last Sunday and we took the opportunity to snowshoe on Thunder Lake Marsh. Dad's goal was to take Scott's GPS that had the coordinates of Grandma's final resting place on it and hike to the spot again. So, Dad, Sarah, Cooper and I set out with our mission firmly set in our minds. Come along with us as we explore the marsh in winter.

At the trailhead ready to go. Everyone's snowshoes are
geared up and ready to and so is the GPS.

On the trail enjoying the warm sun and exercise.

I think I see where we want to go. It's over there across the
marsh. Good thing it's winter and we have snowshoes to walk
over it.

We made it and there is "Grandma's tree." We stopped to
tie a dried flower bouquet with a makeshift ribbon.

And there it is!

A toast to the day and mission accomplished!
